MFP needs someone to cover the monthly Muncie City Council Meeting. Leave a comment below or contact me for details. Some experience covering meetings helpful, but not required.

Next meeting is September 10, 2007 @ 6:30 p.m. - I believe. Haven't called to confirm yet. (765-747-4846) 

Basically, wanting someone to attend to see what's going on in Muncie in regards to the City Council. The meetings I've been to there are usually very structured and informative, lasting about an hour. Muncie Mayor Dan Canan is usually in attendance, as well as a lot of other regulars. (NOTE: I've heard Yencer is no longer political reporter at The Star Press, though, so not sure if he would be there. Can anyone confirm that?)

Possible things to do:

• Write brief summary of what happened at the meeting
• Get an audio recording of the meeting (have to have your own equipment at this time - preferably something that has usb. can ftp wav or mp3 files to me or upload to site depending on how large they are - contact me for details.)
• Snap a few pictures (be polite! especially if you mention you're representing MFP.)
• Shoot some video (would recommend tripod...)
• Collect meeting minutes - collect copy of meeting minutes from last meeting for entry into MFP
• Collect meeting agenda - collect paper copy of meeting agenda for later entry into MFP
  • (For the last two, if you don't want to type them up or scan them, mail them to the Elwood Newsroom...)
