I'm looking for someone to take the position (newly created!) of 'pollmaster' for MFP.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, would be to come up with a new poll once every day or so... No payment at this time, but I could see it possibly (no promises!) becoming a paid position sometime in the future as MFP grows.
Anyone interested?
Needs:
- News Junky - Up on current events
- Basic Grammar
- 10 minutes a day or so
Also, a question to people who might be interested in this - how much do you think would be fair compensation for this task? (Weekly rate? Or pay per post? I like the latter idea...)

I would be willing to try the Poll Master job. I think coming up with a new poll every day, might be difficult, but I'd like to try. Here's a couple of sample polls.
1. Do you approve or disaporve of President Bush's appointment of Dr. Susan Orr, who opposes all forms of contraception, to head his Family Planning Office?
strongly approve approve don't know disapprove strongly disapprove.
2. If you believed it was likely that a prisoner had knowledge of a imminent terrorist attack on the U.S., would you approve torture to get that information?

3. Do you approve of Move-On.Org's use of the term "General Betray Us" in reference to General David Petraeus?

Should the United States employ private contractors to protect diplomats in Iraq or should that job be left to the standing military?
a. Always use standing military
b. Use military for most operations, but some private contractors are okay
c. Use private contractors, but only with thorough oversight and under a strict set of rules.
d. Continue to use private contractors, with little oversight, as we have in the past.
I seem to be able to come up with polls relating to national and international issue easily. I think I would have more difficulty coming up with them for state and local issues.

I think I may have a few people in charge of it, although I'm not entirely sure yet how that's going to work. ;)
Would it be easier to just send the poll ideas to me or post them with your normal user account rather than having an anonymous 'poll master' account?
It's up to you guys. I just want to see some more good polls go up and it is hard coming up with good ones!
I am going to use these, though, if you don't mind. Anyone else interested in this before we try to figure out the best way to do it? I want to have some sense of editorial control of the polls going up...

Surely, you are welcome to use those I have written.
First, I agree, you certainly should have editorial control over the poll submissions. I lean toward the idea of having a poll account, but only mildly. I will do what works best for you.
I was wondering, how many responses do you usually get on a poll?

all the old polls can be found here. As you can see, not too many votes, but I just recently started doing them again after a long hiatus.
I should know more by the time the weekend's over.
