Senator Sue Errington Appointed to Serve on National Committee

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -  Senate President Pro Tempore David Long has appointed State Senator Sue Errington (D-Muncie) to serve on the National Conference of State Legislature’s (NCSL) Standing Committee on Health.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The 2007 session of the 115th General Assembly ended late in the evening on April 29, with 238 enacted bills sent to the governor’s desk. In her first session, State Senator Sue Errington (D-Muncie) sponsored or authored a number of bills that found approval by the legislature and are awaiting action by the governor or set to become law. INDIANAPOLIS, IN - As of this writing, there are still two days remaining for the Indiana General Assembly to conclude business. By law, lawmakers have until midnight Sunday to finish their negotiations on several major issues including the state's two-year budget plan, health care for more Hoosiers, legislation that would allow for slot machines and the state's two horse tracks and property tax relief as well as restructuring. Conference committees will continue to meet throughout the weekend and members will be in chambers to debate and vote on final reports. In the meantime, many other initiatives have been approved and the governor has already signed numerous proposals into law. This brief summary highlights some of these bills.


Week in Review at the Indiana General Assembly

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Facing a fast-approaching deadline of April 29th to conclude business for this legislative session, lawmakers have been very busy working out final details on bills which have advanced to conference committees. Legislators from both parties of the Democrat-led House and Republican-controlled Senate will spend much of the time remaining in joint House-Senate conference committees developing compromise language when two versions of a bill have emerged.


Senator Errington to attend Muncie Third House Meeting

 

INDIANAPOLIS – State Senator Sue Errington (D-Muncie) will attend a third house meeting this Saturday with Representatives Dennis Tyler (D-Muncie), Bill Davis (R-Portland), and Jack Lutz (R-Anderson) to discuss issues facing the Indiana General Assembly during the final week of the 2007 legislative session. The event is hosted by the Muncie Chamber of Commerce.
