pushing through
HELLO! First of all I would just like to express my excitement that there is only a week of finals left of school. yay! I'm so excited for this summer! I wanted to let you in on something I learned last weekend at my retreat... Push through, you can make it! The Friday I had left for the retreat my throat started to become soar and throughout the weekend I developed strep throat that felt like Mono. If you have ever had those you can imagine how I felt.. and being at a retreat constantly paying attention and participating.... but really just wanting to sleep- it's rough. I believe though that God set me up with this challenge by a presentation that was given in the beginning of the retreat about Jacob at the Penial. In this event Jacob literally wrestled with the Angel of the Lord all night before he recieved the blessing from God. I know he was tired, he was probably in a little pain too, his muscles were starting to wear out and his mind wanted to give up. But Jacob would not let go because he wanted to recieve from God. This was the exact position I was in last weekend. I could have very easily thrown my hands in the air and said I'm sick I'm going to bed, wake me up when the retreat was over. But I stuck through it because I knew that by the end of the weekend God had freedom waiting for me and I was not going to miss it. I think we all need to remember this in many moments in life. We fight and fight with things in this world like our current situation and circumstance. But I want to encourage you and say that God does not see present but sees what things will be like. He sees that you are struggling but he knows that if you hold on and let him hold on to you there will be something waiting beyond your imagination. He does not desire you to fight and not win, in fact his right beside you working with you, pushing you just a little further because he wants you to recieve from him.
I really hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend. Give me any feedback if you desire I'd love to get to know you all! Have a blessed day
much love peace hope and joy
