Carl "Fast Eddie" Cooper Sentenced Today

ANDERSON, IN - Judge Thomas Newman sentenced Carl "Fast Eddie" Cooper (a 65-year-old resident of Elwood, Indiana) to 80 years this afternoon, including two 30-year sentences and one 20-year sentence. All time is to be served concurrently. Cooper has been in custody for the last seven months.

Lisa Carlise, his live-in girlfriend for the last 25 years, testified that he was kind, generous and would help out people when they needed it. She also noted that he was the first person to sponsor the Festival of Lights.

After the sentencing, Tina Cooper Bennett and Debbie Cooper Ray, Cooper's daughters, had little good to say about the man. They said he was rarely around for them when they were growing up.

Bryan Cook, Cooper's attorney, noted that it was important for people to know that Cooper pleaded guilty to Sexual Misconduct, and not Child Molestation. He also said that Cooper will appeal Judge Newman's decision.
