Fair to Raise Awareness of Disabilities
MUNCIE, IN - A Disability Awareness Fair will take place at Central High School Thursday, May 10 in the school’s Student Center from 6 to 8 p.m. with activities and booths to generate public awareness of persons with disabilities. Coordinators are planning the event for parents, friends, and families of persons with disabilities to benefit from learning about opportunities for their family member. Â
Activities will include a Transition Fair, entertainment including a dance troupe from Southside High School, student performances by Central High School students, community service information, refreshments, and door prizes. Â
Student-produced work made in the high schools’ Students with Disabilities classes will be on sale to the public. These are gift, craft, jewelry, and stationery items made in the “I CAN” and “PAWSability” classes at Central High School and Southside High School and Yorktown High School. Â
The Fair is sponsored by the Delaware/Blackford Special Education Cooperative and the Delaware County Transition Council. For more information, contact MCS Program Supervisors Linda Gibson at Central High School, 747-5260, or Jenny Daniel, 747-5320. Â
