Muncie Children's Museum's Book Nook Not Just for Bookworms
MUNCIE, IN - Let your imagination be your guide as you read about magical and faraway places with your children at the Muncie Children’s Museum’s newest exhibit, Book Nook, opening Tuesday, June 12. Book Nook is made possible through grants from Altrusa Club of Muncie Foundation and Mutual Federal Savings Bank Charitable Foundation.

Book Nook promotes literacy in families and encourages parents to become involved with their child’s education. The new exhibit offers an educational environment, a comfortable seating area and educational materials for parents. By taking part in reading activities parents can spend valuable time with their children while helping develop their child’s knowledge.
Book Nook provides Museum visitors with the chance to discover fascinating stories through a vast selection of award winning, nationally recognized books and exciting learning opportunities. Book Nook is centered on Caldecott Medal winning books such as Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg and Kitten’s First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes. The Association for Library Service to Children awards the Caldecott Medal to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
Beginning Wednesday, June 13, at 11 a.m., and going throughout the summer, children and families can come and enjoy exciting and interactive stories at Summer Storytime conducted by Muncie Children’s Museum educators.
Book Nook and Summer Storytime are included with regular admission or Muncie Children’s Museum membership. Pre-registration in not required.
For more information on the Book Nook or Summer Storytime, call (765) 286-1660 or visit www.munciechildrensmuseum.com.
