Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Assigned to work from Indiana State Police Peru Post

PERU, IN - Indiana State Police Superintendent Paul Whitesell, Ph.D. recently announced the lateral transfer of Trooper Randall McPike to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. Trooper McPike will work from the Indiana State Police Peru Post as a commercial vehicle enforcement officer.

His primary responsibilities will be the inspection of commercial motor vehicles and enforcement of laws set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He will also be tasked with safety inspections of school busses throughout the Peru District which covers Fulton, Miami, Tipton, Cass, Wabash, and Howard Counties..

Prior to his new assignment, McPike, a seven year veteran, was assigned to the Indiana State Police Redkey District, where he was assigned road patrol in Grant County. McPike is certified to conduct level III inspections on commercial motor vehicles. He is also a crash reconstructionist and field training officer. McPike also served as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon.  

McPike holds a bachelors degree in telecommunications from Indiana University. McPike and his wife Kelly and their two children reside in Grant County.
