Ride with the Governor Motorcycle Run
EAST CENTRAL INDIANA - The following is a message from Jay Jackson Executive Director of ABATE of Indiana, Inc. concerning Governor Mitch Daniels' one day motorcycle ride through southern Indiana Friday, August 17.
An Invitation to All Indiana Motorcyclists,
Motorcyclist and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be participating in a one day ride through southern Indiana on August 17th. The intent is to increase safety by making motorists more aware of motorcyclists on the roadways while promoting motorcycling opportunities in the Hoosier State.
Riders will gather at the State Capitol on Friday, August 17th about 9:00 am and depart around 9:30 am. Everyone is encouraged to ride to the Statehouse to see this event get under way. At that time the governor and a delegation of riders representing a number of motorcycling organizations will head south.
The group will make several stops along the route so that people may visit with Governor Daniels and join in the group ride segments of the event. The schedule for times and locations of the stops is listed below.
- Friday, August 17th, 9:00 am Registration at the State House
- Friday, August 17th, 9:30 am Depart State House and ride through Greenfield
- Friday, August 17th, 10:30 am Arrive at the Shelbyville Circle
- Friday, August 17th, 11:30 am Depart Shelbyville for Columbus
- Friday, August 17th, 12:15-12:30 pm Arrive in Columbus at the War Memorial
- Friday, August 17th, 12:45 pm Depart Columbus for Seymour
- Friday, August 17th, 1:15 pm Arrive at Seymour Geiser Park
- Friday, August 17th, 3:00 pm Depart Seymour for Salem
- Friday, August 17th, 3:30 pm Arrive in Salem at Cycle Technologies
- Friday, August 17th, 4:00 pm Depart Salem for Paoli
- Friday, August 17th, 4:30-4:45 pm Arrive in Paoli at the Fair Grounds
