Workshop Helps East Central Indiana Faith-Based Youth Organizations in Raising Resources
MUNCIE, IN - The Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is offering a workshop to assist faith-based organizations in East Central Indiana raise more resources.
Youth workers, teachers, community leaders, youth ministers and others who impact the lives of youth in East Central Indiana can register for the workshop, "Raising Resources for Faith-Based Youth-Serving Organizations," to be presented from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sept. 14 at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main St., Muncie.
Often faith-based organizations struggle to find funding for their specific programs. "Raising Resources for Faith-Based Youth-Serving Organizations," is especially designed for grassroots organizations and will offer tips on how to raise resources for their work with youth, including in-kind services, donated goods and products, volunteers, and money. The workshop also will provide insight on public funding opportunities for faith-based initiatives, and participants will receive helpful, ready-to-use tools, scripts and templates to take home.
Karen Woods, executive director of the Empowerment Resource Network, is the instructor. Woods has public policy experience on the state and national levels and is a frequent speaker and consultant on building effectiveness and sustainability in community-based nonprofits.
This workshop also will be presented in Carmel, Hammond, Evansville, Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Jeffersonville, and South Bend. For more information about the workshops in those cities, go to www.iyi.org.
Cost of the training is $45, but individuals can save $5 per session by registering online with a credit card for this or other IYI trainings at www.iyi.org/training_registration. Continuing Education Hours through the National Association of Social Workers and the Indiana Association of Prevention Professionals are available for the workshop. Continuing Renewal Units (CRUs) are available for teachers, school counselors and other licensed educators.
