Indiana Health Industry Forum Announces Two New Incentive Programs

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -  The Indiana Health Industry Forum (IHIF) today announced two new programs intended to help universities, communities, and economic development organizations grow the health and life sciences industry in Indiana.  The Incubator Membership and Business Attraction Membership programs will allow start-ups and new businesses locating in Indiana to take advantage of IHIF member programs and discounts.

Working with IHIF member universities and business incubators, the Incubator Membership will give start-up companies locating in these facilities a one-year, free membership in the Indiana Health Industry Forum.

The Business Attraction Membership will be available to IHIF member economic development organizations and will allow them to purchase a low-level, one-year membership to use as part of their incentive packages in new business attraction projects.

“It is our hope that these two new programs will benefit both small and large businesses in Indiana and encourage additional investment in the state”, said Mike Brooks, President of the Indiana Health Industry Forum.  “Our greatest strength is in the diversity of our membership and these programs help us better represent the full spectrum of health and life science interests across the state.”

Serving as a chamber of commerce for Indiana companies in the health and life sciences industry, the Indiana Health Industry Forum also serves as the Indiana affiliate to the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO).  IHIF Members are eligible to participate in the BIO Business Solutions discount program which offers substantial savings on everything from insurance, to office supplies, and laboratory equipment. “I can save the cost of our annual IHIF membership in just one order to VWR”, said Dan Sejas, Research Associate, EndGenitor Technologies, Inc. “It is a huge benefit to start-up companies”.

Both programs will be promoted as part of the Forum’s statewide asset mapping and strategic planning initiative kicked-off in July.  “This project entails helping communities throughout the state of Indiana identify targeted life sciences assets and opportunities.  These programs will support discussions with universities and local economic development groups and help make the asset mapping activity meaningful and relevant to communities across the state,” said Dan Peterson, Cook Medical and Chairman of IHIF’s Board of Directors.

The announcement was made in conjunction with the quarterly meeting of the Indiana Economic Development Association in Lafayette, Indiana.  For more information on IHIF or the Incubator Membership or Business Attraction Membership programs, please contact IHIF at 317-278-9973.
