Tech Firm Grows Indianapolis Headquarters, Adds New Jobs

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - T2 Systems Inc., a leading international provider of unified parking management software, hardware and consulting services, announced today that it will expand its headquarters here, creating more than 90 new jobs over the next seven years.

The software developer is investing more than $1 million to upgrade its offices and equipment on the city's northwest side and has begun hiring additional customer service, information technology and business development professionals.

"T2 is creating the kinds of high-tech jobs that contribute to our economic comeback," said Governor Mitch Daniels. "We're glad to see this home-grown company continuing to invest in Indiana."

Founded in 1994 by Indiana native Michael Simmons, the company provides parking management solutions to nearly 300 organizations in the United States and Canada, including universities, cities, towns, private operators and airports. The company's solutions allow users to manage various aspects of parking, such as citations, permits, access control, financial transactions, vehicle towing, license plate look-ups, collections, space availability and utilization.

"We are fortunate in that we have continued to see growth year after year. It is exciting to have an expanding role in the national parking industry and the Indianapolis business community. We're looking forward to adding new employees to share in this excitement," Simmons said.

In addition to out of state customers, T2 provides services to The City of Indianapolis, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Indiana University, Ball State University, City of Bloomington and other Indiana-based parking operations.

"Business expansion is an important component to any sustained economic development strategy," Mayor Bart Peterson said. "We're excited to see T2, a global technology company that could have expanded anywhere in the world, choose to retain its existing workforce and create over 100 new, high-wage, high-tech jobs in our city.  This announcement adds to Indianapolis' winning reputation for business growth and job creation."

Locally, the company has been recognized as both a Growth 100 company and one of the best places in Indiana to work. Since 1994, T2 has received several Growth 100 Awards as one of Indiana's rapid-growth, high-potential entrepreneurial companies. Growth 100 companies are identified through an analysis process that is based upon High Performance Organization research conducted by The Johnson Center. And, in 2006 and 2007, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce named T2 among the "Best Places to Work in Indiana."

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered T2 Systems up to $540,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $112,500 in training grants based upon the company's hiring plans.  The City of Indianapolis offered the company property tax abatement, and Indianapolis Economic Development and the Indy Partnership assisted in the effort.
