INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Washington Post political blogger Chris Cillizza will talk about the influence of the Internet and blogging on the 2008 presidential, gubernatorial and congressional races at an October 23 event that includes the first appearance before the general public by the two Democratic gubernatorial candidates – Jill Long Thompson and Jim Schellinger. Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman will speak on behalf of Governor Mitch Daniels.

HPR Forum: Dialogue 2008 is free and open to the public, October 23, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Madame Walker Theatre Center in Indianapolis.  In lieu of an admission fee, attendees are asked to bring a canned food item that will be donated to the Julian Center food bank.  The event requires an advance RSVP to howeypolitics@gmail.com.

Cillizza writes a popular political blog for the Washington Post called “The Fix.” He has reported for Roll Call newspaper, most recently as its White House correspondent.  He has also worked as a reporter for the Cook Political Report and is a contributing writer for the Atlantic Monthly, Washingtonian and

“Outside of Democratic Party events, this joint appearance by Schellinger and Thompson will be one of the first of the 2008 campaign sequence open to the general public,” said HPR Publisher Brian A. Howey.  “There is great public interest to hear their visions for Indiana’s future.”
