State Agencies Collaborate to Improve Aid to Homeless Children

Free homeless advocacy workshop registration still available

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - School staff, school administrators, teachers, Head Start staff, homeless shelter providers and other childhood professionals can still register for a homeless children’s workshop. The free workshop will address collaborative efforts that can improve the social and educational situation for Indiana’s homeless children.

Educational tools, housing and outreach best practices to serve homeless children will be featured from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on October 16 at the Indiana Community Action Association, 1845 W. 18th St., Indianapolis. Lunch is provided and school staff needing substitutes will receive stipends to cover that cost.

The workshop is sponsored in partnership with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Indiana Head Start State Collaboration Office, Indiana Head Start Association, Indiana Coalition on Housing and Homeless Issues and the Indiana Department of Education.
