Public Comments on Proposed list of Impaired Waterways Wanted

EAST CENTRAL INDIANA - IDEM seeks comment on the state's draft 2008 303(d) list of impaired waterbodies until Dec. 26, 2007.

IDEM has prepared the list according to section 303(d) of the 1972 Federal Clean Water Act (CWA), which requires each state to identify and
make public a list of waters that do not meet the state's water quality standards for designated uses, such as fishing, swimming or drinking.
IDEM uses the list to determine priorities for further study, community involvement and grant programs.

Comments about the draft 2008 303(d) list may be mailed, hand delivered or faxed to:

Indiana Department of Environmental Management

100 N. Senate Ave.

MC 65-40 - LW IGCN 1255

Indianapolis, IN 46204-2251

Fax: (317) 232-8406

The proposed list of impaired waterbodies is available for public review on the IDEM Web site at www.idem.IN.gov/programs/water/303d/index.html.
