Educational Leadership Department at BSU Ranked 11th in the Nation

By Anthony Romano

MUNCIE, Ind. - For the third year in a row, Ball State's Department of Educational Leadership ranks among the nation's best leadership development programs, according to Leadership Excellence magazine.

The magazine ranks Ball State 11th among universities. Ball State bested schools such as Yale and Stanford while it was on the heels of Duke, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

"This accomplishment is a direct reflection of the great work our faculty, staff, students and alumni are doing," said Joe McKinney, department chair. "It's quite an honor to be mentioned in the same breath as these other schools, and I believe that you will see Ball State continue to move up this list as our program continues to grow."

Editors of the magazine looked at more than 1,000 organizations before singling out the top 100 leadership development programs in seven categories in its October issue.
