Indiana State Troopers (Redkey) Receive Patrol Cars
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indiana has 118 new troopers assigned to state police districts throughout the state now patrolling the roads. Members of the 67th Indiana State Police Recruit School that graduated July 6, 2007 received their patrol cars at the Indiana State Police Youth Education and Historical Center located at the Indiana State Police Indianapolis District last Wednesday, October 17th.
Five newly appointed troopers from the Redkey District who picked up their full marked patrol cars today are:
- Dustin Bell is from Madison County, assigned Delaware County
- Nicholas Hoffman is from Allen County, assigned Grant County
- Chuck Meyer is from Warrensburg, MO., assigned Grant County
- David Nacke is from Grant County, assigned Grant County
- David Shepherd is from Jay County, assigned Jay and Randolph Counties
The new troopers completed a three month field training period with seasoned troopers, before receiving their cars and placed on solo patrol within the Redkey District which is responsible for Delaware, Grant, Jay, Blackford and Randolph Counties.
Lieutenant Andy Coffee, Commander of the Redkey District said, "We currently have seventeen (17) troopers that are assigned to the Redkey District; these five additional troopers will enhance the services we provide to the citizens of east central Indiana."
