Newly re-elected Mayor Mark Kruzan, former Mayors John Fernandez and Tomilea Allison, and Hoosiers and Rudy writer/producer Angelo Pizzo are all supporting Long Thompson's campaign for governor. The support of State Representative Matt Pierce of Bloomington was previously announced by the campaign.
Allison served as Mayor of Bloomington from 1983 to 1995. Fernandez served from 1995 to 2004.
"Jill Long Thompson has all the skills to get Indiana back on track. She's the right person at the right time," said Pizzo.
Long Thompson said, "I'm honored to have the support of such a great group of Hoosiers. From leading our state and breaking down barriers to telling the stories of Indiana, their contributions are invaluable."
"We need leadership that cares for Hoosiers and can fix our state's problems," Allison said. "Jill is that type of leader. From property taxes to privatization, she has the ideas and the experience to fix the mistakes of the past four years."
Jill Long Thompson represented Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1989 to 1995. She served as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Rural Development from 1995 to 2001.
