Trailer Parts Provider to Locate Its First Midwest Facility in Angola

ANGOLA, IN -  Quality Trailer Products, a subsidiary of Minnesota-based tank trailer manufacturer Polar Corporation, announced today it will locate its first Midwest manufacturing facility here, creating 27 new jobs by 2010.

The manufacturer and distributor of trailer fenders and axles for the small utility trailer business will begin hiring welders, metal fabricators and sales professionals in 2008 to staff its 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located at 1304 Wohlert Street. 

"More and more companies are recognizing that Indiana is a great place to do business, and we're glad Quality Trailer selected Indiana for its first Midwest operation," said Governor Mitch Daniels

Headquartered in St. Cloud, Minn., Quality Trailer's parent company Polar Corporation operates 35 facilities across the country and employs approximately 1,100 employees.  The company supplies more than 20,000 different trailer products through a network of 19 distribution centers and three manufacturing facilities.  

"We selected Angola because of its central location and access to markets in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan," said Cecil Fugate, vice president of manufacturing, Quality Trailer Products. 

Quality Trailer is one of three business divisions operated by Polar Corporation. 

"I want to thank the IEDC, Steuben County Economic Development Corporation and Julie Cole from our own Angola Economic Development department for the hard work they have put in to bring Quality Trailer to our city," said Angola Mayor Richard Hickman.  

"Quality Trailer is one of three companies who announced today their plans to bring the diversified, well paying jobs to this community that we have been working toward. I am sure each will be good corporate partners with the City of Angola for many years to come."

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Quality Trailer up to $25,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans.  With assistance from the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation, the City of Angola will provide the company with property tax abatement.
