Toll Road Attendant Target of Robbery

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, IN - At 3:37 a.m. today's date, an employee of the Indiana Toll Road was robbed at the South Bend/Notre Dame Toll Plaza.  The suspect entered the toll booth on lane #2 eastbound and told the male attendant "Give me all the money or I'll kill you." The suspect took the 2 cash drawers and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. He was approximately 5-10 in height and is 25-35 years old. After the suspect fled east, he discarded the cash drawers. The suspect climbed a fence and then traveled north from the toll plaza on foot. There is no vehicle description and no weapon was displayed.

The robbery is being investigated by Trooper Danny Burch of the Toll Road Post.  Anyone with information concerning this incident is requested to contact Trooper Burch at the Toll Road at 1-800-421-4912.

Assisting Trooper Burch were officers from the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, Notre Dame Police Department, South Bend Police Department and the Roseland Police Department.

The investigation is continuing.
