How deep is your rut?
My rut, is that I live in Muncie Indiana, and am trying to make a life and living here. I call it a rut, as I really have no better place to go; and everything is paid off or near so. Now I don't know about the rest of you but I still feel fee enough to walk away from it, but really don't know where I would go if I wanted to.
So my has become to try and make this place work. The rut has taken twenty plus years to grove out and many up and downs and has been well traveled and is very familiar to me and the community. I suppose that is part of what makes me not want to grade this rut level and make it more traversal to continue to use this route.
One thing, I have discovered about ruts, is they can be dealt with, and can even become comfortable or at lest tolarable, not unlike a habit. So I suppose I am talking about a habit, as much as a rut. I do know that other folks in the area can make the rut a little more or less bearable also. It is not so bad if once in a while we band together and grade the rut back down and start over, but it is when we let it reach the bottom of our rigs we start tearing up the whole deal.
I figure we are at that point now. I am talking about our little community here in Muncie Indiana, and the rut of partisan politics, and community life and attempts to make a living here. It has come to the pont, I do beleive it is time to do some plowing, grading, and demolishing in our fair city, and to take more direct responsibility to do certain things, that we have in the recent past delegated to governmental representatives. To many of whom have proven they can't be trusted to watch our over Common Interests.
I do think we need each other to get this done. And get out of the common rut we have helped build together. Now, I do know we do have some who don't always have to travel the same rut, or even navigate the same path that many of us choose or are required to travel. Yet they live around and among us and have their own form of rut particular to themselves, and they too sometimes want a less rutted path to travel to and from common areas of interest or needs. Of course we could all pull together and make the rut(s) a less offensive aspect of daily life to deal with, or we can stay separated into partisan Politics, and be affected by the walls of division that serve to make the rut(s) more offensive and harder to deal with.
I for one would like to share the common need to reduce the depth of the existing ruts' an work to keep them to a minimum, for the amount of travel we do by this population, for all of us, in our community. Lets get a good rut elimination crew together, and clean this place up good and proper.
