Mayor McShurley announces appointments to The Board of Public Works and Safety

MUNCIE, IN - Mayor Sharon McShurley has announced appointments to the Board of Public Works and Safety.   Harold Mason, Jr. and Kelly Christy have each been appointed to serve a four-year term. 

Sara Shade has also been reappointed to serve an additional four-year term. The qualifications for board members require that they must have been a voter of the City of Muncie for at least one year immediately prior to his or her appointment and may hold other appointed positions in the city government. The board consists of three persons appointed by the Mayor.

The Board of Works and Safety is responsible for all city property, contracts, and change orders among many other duties. In addition, they meet every Wednesday at 10:00 in the City Hall Auditorium to handle regular business and to approve permits for street closings, parades, and events.
