New Commander Assigned to the Pendleton State Police Post

PENDLETON, IN -  Indiana State Police Superintendent Paul Whitesell, Ph.D., announced the promotion of First Sergeant Kevin Rees to the rank of Lieutenant to serve as the District Commander of the Pendleton Indiana State Police Post.  Lt. Rees received this promotion through written testing and a competitive interview process. 

Lt. Rees is a 22 year veteran of the Indiana State Police Department.  After graduating from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in 1985 he was assigned patrol duties in Hamilton County and worked out of the Pendleton Post.  Lt. Rees received two promotions since patrolling in Hamilton County.  He was promoted to Sergeant and served as the Indiana State Police Firearms Program Coordinator.  Lt. Rees was then promoted to First Sergeant and was most recently Commander of the Executive Protection Detail.  He coordinated security for Governor Daniels. 

Lt. Rees is a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and served four years in the United States Air Force.  Lt. Rees is a certified firearms instructor, armorer, radar and vascar instructor, and crash reconstructionist. 

In his new assignment as Commander of the Pendleton State Police Post, Lt. Rees will oversee the operation of a post that covers Madison, Hamilton, and Hancock counties.   

Lt. Rees resides in Noblesville.
