Vehicle Leaves the Scene After Striking Child
SULLIVAN COUNTY, IN - The Indiana State Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with a crash in rural Sullivan County that has left a small child in critical condition and troopers looking for the suspect vehicle.
On Tuesday, April 8th between 6:30 and 7:00p.m., a group of children were playing near the road on CR 1125S just west of CR 350W in southern Sullivan County. A vehicle traveling westbound on CR 1125S struck a small child with a tricycle near a residential mailbox on the south side of the road. The suspect vehicle then continued westbound from the scene. The child’s grandmother rushed the victim to Sullivan County Community Hospital where he was stabilized and later airlifted to Methodist Hospital.
VICTIM: Codie E. Pusey, age 5, of rural Carlisle, Indiana - Head, chest and internal injuries, currently in a coma
SUSPECT: Possibly three teenagers and possibly a male driver
SUSPECT VEHICLE: Red, possibly 4d Passenger Car, Possibly some customization to lower body, a rear spoiler on trunk, Fuzzy Dice hanging from mirror and fairly loud exhaust. Should have front end damage and possibly windshield damage.
