Democrat, Indipendant, Libertarian, Republican, and None of the Above?
Here we are In the Good Old USA, known for it otherwise orderly transition of Power in administration and Politics between parties?
Is it beyond question that our current form of Government and the way we do politics in this country has become obsolete?
Consider for a moment if we were to take seriously the following site: http://www.cusdi.org/index.html and the information contained therein. If for instance if were to "Take Back" more responsibility for doing more what we currently ask Representatives to do for us; such as making more decisions as to whom can or can't retire from public funds, determine terms limits on who is allowed for what position, or simply hold referendums on important issues that could affect the common good.
What if we didn't have political parties, but instead voted only on issues and what the current or successive administrations would be allowed to do to accomplish attaining our agreed upon goals to reach the desired results the Referendum allowed.
Of, if We The People were to really establish a fourth pillar of government, and allow this Nation to really become a Nation of the People, for the People, and by the People; would we treat the business of doing the Nations business as we would a family business? One in which our very day to day votes counted toward our own success or failure? Would we hold the common trust, in trust as a fiduciary honor, privilage, and sacred duty to our common good?
I would hope so, for all our sakes, and then there is the day to day business of delegating the routine, mundane and customary that could be delegated to the Congress, Senate, Executive, and Judiciary; but only so long as they remained answerable to We The People. How would we treat those representatives that seeminly are usurping our retained rights, and abusing our sovereign rights, privileges, and immunities? Would we be able to charge them with treason, internal national terrorism? Would we seek to have Recall Authority over them or simply exercise a No Confidence Vote to have them change places with other chose secondary representitives? Or would we degrees to having them guillotined in the public square as they did in France?
I would hope we have learned something in the past 200 plus years we have been conducting this Great Experiment; that maybe we have learned to not delegate as much and do more for ourselves, and to not expect the government to be the great savior of all our Ill's but to be more independent and less parisan then we have become, especially as we have become more socialistic then many are comfortable with. We might ask ourselves is a Libertarian a true Indipendant or simply another guise for a similar approach to politics with just another name?
Could we accept that NONE OF THE ABOVE is a valid choice in any election? That is to say, by choosing it, we say to all who are trying to run to replace the incumbents, that you are no better, and not worth changing the one we know, for the one we would have to give more time to make needed changes? Maybe we could instead simply say the incumbents have lost the power to govern, and there appears no worthy candidates, and thus We The People have decided to exercise our Retained Rights and will exercise a Grand Jury Like Citizen Assembly and will govern by Referendum of the People, until a worthy candidate can be found. Is it truly unthinkable that such a thing could happen in this or any country? State by State, and County by county within a state, I do beleive this process could be made to work.
I beleive it could happen, and It will take our doing our part, and giving up some precious vacation or holiday time to do the work of government, on a grand jury like selection process. We The People could then say this Nation, is truely a Republic ,and not a nation of Partisan Political, Big Money, Big Business influenced by the few or for the rich only or the few, but is also not a nation of mob rule .
It is my belief we ca have both a decent Republic, and less government. with more retained freedoms, and what representitives we retain would be "more" public servant then professional career politician. I don't beleive we need as much government as we have, nor do we need to have as many public servants Retiring on taxpayer dollars. We are way past due for a Tax Payer Revolution in this State, and Nation. Peaceful, transition of Power to We The People, through process, and referendum by the will of We The People.
If it is not on the Ballot? Would you write in NONE OF THE ABOVE?
