State Police Checkpoint Results in Arrest of Anderson Resident on Several Charges

ANDERSON, IN -  Carolyn J. Jones, 41, Anderson, was arrested on several charges yesterday evening at an Indiana State Police Sobriety checkpoint held on East 53rd street in Anderson.  Indiana State Trooper Corey Berfield noticed that Jones had been drinking when he stopped her 2000 Oldsmobile at the checkpoint at 11:17 p.m. Thursday evening.  

Trooper Berfield observed that two minor children were passengers in her vehicle. The minor children were related to Jones. Carolyn Jones refused to take a breath test and was arrested. 

Arrested and Charges

• Carolyn J. Jones, 41, Anderson
• Initial Charges:  Operating while Intoxicated with a prior offense-Class D Felony
• Operating with minors present in the vehicle-Class D Felony
• Operating While Intoxicated Refusal-Class A Misdemeanor
• Neglect of a Dependent-Class D Felony
• Driving While Suspended
• Child Restraint Violation-minors not buckled up

 
Trooper Berfield transported Jones to the Madison County Jail where she was incarcerated.
