Pence Mourns Fallen Bryant Marine

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence paid tribute today to Lance Corporal Andrew Francis Whitacre, USMC, of Bryant, Indiana, who was killed June 19, 2008, during combat operations in Afghanistan.

 

“Lance Corporal Andrew Whitacre gave his life in selfless heroism, not only for the defense of his nation's security but also for the growth of freedom in another.

 

“Were it not for the courage of patriots like Lance Cpl. Whitacre, freedom and democracy would exist only in theory; it is because they answer the call of duty that we have a firm foundation upon which to build a better world.

 

“I join my constituents of the Sixth Congressional District in paying a debt of honor and respect for Lance Cpl. Whitacre, who heroically gave his life on foreign soil in defense of freedom.”
