Commercial Vehicle Division Releases June Activity for I-69
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) has released the results of its concentrated patrols covering Interstate 69 during the month of June.
In its continuing effort to target aggressive drivers and unsafe vehicles traveling the I-69 corridor, there were 444 citations issued and 284 warnings written to commercial vehicle drivers during this period. There were 294 non-hazmat inspections conducted and 15 hazmat inspections. A total of 529 violations of the federal motor carrier safety regulations were discovered during these inspections. Of those 529 violations, 70 were out of service violations. Eleven drivers and 29 vehicles were placed out of service for violating federal motor carrier safety regulations as a result of these inspections being conducted.
The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division will continue its monthly concentrated patrols of I-69 to gain voluntary compliance, ensure safe traveling, and reduce the number of crashes involving commercial vehicles.
