Governor appoints Indiana State University trustees

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Governor Mitch Daniels today announced the appointments of two new members of the Indiana State University (ISU) Board of Trustees. Tanya Bell, Brownsburg, and Randall K. Minas, Crown Point, have been named to the board.

Bell is president and chief executive officer of Indiana Black Expo, Inc. Minas is a senior vice president with Merrill Lynch in Merrillville. The governor made the announcement during the Indiana Black Expo 38th Annual Summer Celebration Governor’s Reception at the Indiana State House.

Bell earned her undergraduate degree in social studies education from ISU in 1997. Before being named as Black Expo president and CEO early this year, Bell was assistant general counsel for community Health Network of Indianapolis. She is also executive vice-chair of the boards of both the Princess Power Ministries, Ltd., and Earth Angels, Inc.

Minas earned his undergraduate degree in management from ISU in 1975. He is the founder of Culver Coffee Co., which is now run by his daughter, who is a 2003 ISU graduate.  Last year, a gift from Mr. Minas’ foundation endowed the Randall and Nancy Minas Center for Investment and Financial Education at ISU.

They replace Barbara House of Indianapolis and Richard Shagley of Terre Haute. Their terms begin immediately and expire on June 30, 2012.

Appointments to the boards of the University of Southern Indiana, Ivy Tech Community College and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education will be announced soon.
