Illegal Immigrant Arrested on Child Molesting Charges

SCOUT COUNTY, IN - On Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at approximately 2:00 PM, troopers and detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg arrested Jesus M. Lopez, 20, 54 Wilbur Avenue, Austin. He was arrested on a traffic stop in Clarksville, IN after a warrant was issued for him out of the Scott County Circuit Court for Child Molesting, B Felony.

An investigation began approximately two weeks ago when it was reported to the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg that Jesus M. Lopez had allegedly molested an 11 year old girl. After the investigation was completed it was turned over to the Scott County Prosecutor resulting in the arrest warrant being issued today.

Jesus M. Lopez was transported to and incarcerated in the Scott County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.

This investigation is continuing.
