Alleged Pedophile Arrested for Seven Counts of Child Molesting

PERU, IN - This morning, a month long investigation by the Miami County Division of Child Services and Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Joe Swisher resulted in the arrest of William J. Legg, 81, 427 E. 2nd Street, Peru, IN, on seven counts of child molesting.  

Indiana State Police launched an investigation after receiving information from the Miami County Division of Child Services that an eleven-year-old girl had possibly been molested. Trooper Swisher’s investigation revealed that Legg had allegedly molested the girl on several occasions from 2002 until August of 2008. The investigation also revealed Legg allegedly molested a seven-year-old girl. 

Legg was arrested at his home after he was served with a Miami Superior Court arrest warrant by Trooper Swisher and Miami County Sheriff’s Captain Dave Vitek. Legg was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. He has a surety bond of $178,000.
