Semi Rolls Over on I-70

RICHMOND, IN - On Monday, September 29, at approximately 2:15 a.m. this morning Connersville Trooper Nate Raney responded to a report of a semi roll over at the 149 mm on eastbound I-70. When he arrived he found a 2007 Freightliner on its side in the south side ditch just west of the 149mm exit on the eastbound side.

The driver, Josh Beckett, 29, of Xenia Ohio, said he drove off the road to avoid a deer.  Beckett received minor cuts and bruises.  Witnesses behind Beckett's truck said it was driving straight and just drove off the right side of the road and rolled. The truck's box trailer, which was loaded with sports drink, is being off loaded so the truck can be rolled back onto its wheels.

At this time the truck is still on its side.  There may be lane blockages on the eastbound side later this morning when wreckers attempt to upright the truck.  Trooper Raney was assisted at the scene by Indiana State Police Motor Carrier Inspectors and the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.
