Interstate 65 Traffic Diverted at State Road 28

Crews will be setting beams Friday and Saturday night

CLINTON COUNTY, IN -The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces Interstate 65 (I-65) traffic at State Road 28 (S.R. 28), exit 158, will be diverted up the off-ramp and back onto I-65 via the on-ramp Friday, October 10 beginning at 11:55 p.m.  Crews will be setting beams for the bridge, weather permitting.  Work will begin in the southbound lanes and then continue in the northbound lanes.  Work will continue on Saturday night and possibly Monday beginning at 11:55 p.m.  Police officers will be assisting with traffic control during this time.

This $3.3 million Major Moves project will reconstruct and widen the bridge deck and add a turn lane from S.R. 28 onto I-65.  The project will also widen both the northbound and southbound off-ramps.  The pavement will be replaced on the approaches, the bridge and all four ramps.  Construction is scheduled for completion in November 2008.

Governor Daniels' Major Moves program fully funds a decade of critical highway projects in Indiana.  When Indiana's innovative highway plan is complete in 2015, more than 200 new construction and 200 major highway preservation projects will have been built.  Major Moves capitalizes on Indiana's strategic location at the Crossroads of America by building a superior road infrastructure.  This innovative plan will bring jobs to the Hoosier State and leave a legacy for Indiana to be a global leader in distribution and logistics.
