Ball State’s Fashion Merchandising Association to Hold Cinderella’s Closet

MUNCIE, IN – The Ball State University Fashion Merchandising Association (FMA) will be holding its annual fundraising event, Cinderella’s Closet, on Saturday, March 21st from 12:00 to 5:00 PM at the Ball State Alumni Center.

Girls are encouraged to donate old prom dresses, handbags, jewelry and shoes for resale at discounted prices to the Muncie community. All proceeds from Cinderella’s Closet will go to Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.

Items will be collected in the Atrium on Friday, Feb. 20th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at the Back in Black Fashion Show on Saturday, Feb. 21st in Prius Hall at 6 p.m.

"There are so many people who have beautiful gowns in their closets that have had only one night to shine," said Amy Dodge, Co-President of FMA. "We'll never really wear those bridesmaids, party, and prom dresses again, why not share them with girls who might not otherwise go to prom without them?"

Members of FMA are also available to pick up dresses. For more information about Cinderella’s Closet or prom dress collections, please contact Amy Dodge at (317) 441-4997 or e-mail at aedodge@bsu.edu; or Kirstin Woebekking at (260) 570-3129.
