Indiana State Police at Fort Wayne Release January Statistics

FORT WAYNE, IN - The Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne have released statistics for the month of January.  Troopers issued 1424 traffic citations, 2005 traffic warnings and investigated 190 vehicle crashes (which included 26 personal injury crashes).  Troopers also arrested 38 drunk drivers and made 156 criminal arrests.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Fort Wayne Post worked 29 new cases and made 18 criminal arrests all of which were felony arrests.  There were a total of 109 cases drawn by both troopers and detectives. 

Motor Carrier Inspectors assigned to the Fort Wayne Post from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division conducted 96 inspections which resulted in the placing of 15 vehicles and 6 drivers out of service.  They issued a total of 30 citations and 76 warnings.

Master Trooper Gary Shenefield, his K-9 partner Beau, Senior Trooper Brad Shultz and his K-9 partner Gunnar had between them, a total of four tracks which resulted in one apprehension, 10 searches which yielded 10 arrests, assisted other agencies on eight occasions and seized 57 pounds of marijuana. 

The Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne serves the citizens in the following nine northeast Indiana Counties:  Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.
