Interim Fire Chief Appointed
MUNCIE, IN - Effective Thursday, March 12th, 2009 James Clevenger is appointed interim Fire Chief of the Muncie Fire Department. James Clevenger, the department’s top ranking officer, has agreed to serve in the capacity of interim chief for the next 30 to 60 days, barring any conflict of interest of fulfilling his Delaware County Coroner responsibilities.
Mayor McShurley stated, “I am extremely pleased by James’ willingness to assume leadership responsibilities as we begin the search for a new fire chief. James, currently a Battalion Commander, has a long and distinguished career in emergency services and I look forward to the many insights he will bring to the table.”
The City’s expected three and half million-dollar shortfall continues to require changes to the status quo or the way things have always been done.
