New Muncie Fire Chief Appointed

MUNCIE, IN - Effective Monday April13th, 2009 Sean Burcham is appointed Fire Chief of the Muncie Fire Department. Sean Burcham a twenty-year veteran on the department served as Lieutenant before accepting this position. He was responsible for the number two fire station and the crews on two squad and two ladder. 

 

In addition to extensive fire certifications, Chief Burcham currently has served, as president of the Delaware Community School Board; he is a successful small business owner and real-estate agent.  

Mayor McShurley stated, “I am extremely pleased by the diversity of Sean’s life experience and his willingness to assume leadership responsibilities as we address an immediate need for ladder trucks. His distinguished career in emergency services: his years of public service and his success as an entrepreneur encompass all the makings for an outstanding fire chief. These business insights have tremendous value as the City addresses an expected three and half million-dollar shortfall in this year’s budget.

At least he has some fall

At least he has some fall back income if he does not make it as Chief? Just kidding just kidding; and given the state of the City budget who know really? God willing and the City can afford to keep him...so be it.
