PORTER COUNTY IN - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces State Road 2 (S.R. 2) between County Road 500W and County Road 600W will be closed during the daylight hours of April 23 during pipe replacement construction. The pipe is approximately 0.75 miles west of County Road 500, which is to the west of Boone Grove High School.

Posted signs will direct traffic around the closure. Eastbound S.R. 2 traffic, north of the Town of Hebron, will be directed to take U.S. 231 north to I-65 north to U.S. 30 east and back to S.R. 2. Westbound traffic, north of Hebron, will be directed to take U.S. 30 west to I-65 south to U.S. 231 south and back to S.R. 2.

S.R. 2/U.S. 231 is closed in Hebron between Jackson and Aylea streets because of the active pavement replacement project. Traffic wishing to continue west on S.R. 2 south of Hebron should continue south on I-65 to the interchange of S.R. 2, as the posted detour directs.

The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot.
