Two Appointed to Ivy Tech Community College Regional Board

ALLEN COUNTY, IN - Alice Eshelman and DaVita Mitchell, have been appointed to serve on the Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast Regional Board of Trustees.  Eshelman will be replacing Jeff Reed who represented Agriculture and served on the Board for four years.  Mitchell will be replacing L. Burton Wygant who represented Education and served on the Board for 21 years.  Dr. Robert Dettmer will be the new Chair of the Regional Board while Frederick Roberts will transition from Vice Chair to Secretary. 

Eshelman has been actively involved in the beautification of downtown Roanoke and is the visionary behind Joseph Decuis, a gourmet restaurant designated as the only 4 diamond restaurant in Northeast Indiana.  She graduated from Denison University with a degree in Theatre and Film.  Eshelman has been actively involved in a variety of charitable and civic causes such as the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Healthier Moms & Babies. She was a founding member of the Roanoke Beautification Foundation and has served on its Board since its inception in 1999. 

Mitchell was most recently employed by DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. & Johnson & Johnson Co. of Warsaw, Indiana.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Administration from Indiana University in 1981. Mitchell has served with several community organizations and Boards including Junior League of Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne Urban League, Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce Diversity Business Committee, United Way of Allen County Study Circles Steering Committee and the Boys and Girls Club.
