School named in honor of Westerville child
IDTC is proud to host its first annual Homecoming celebration on October 16th from 1p.m. to 4p.m. Part of the celebration will include a dedication of Warner School in honor of a former student, Kasey Warner, who was a resident of Franklin County Ohio.
Kasey Warner was a student who resided at IDTC from January 2003 to September 2004. He came into care with IDTC from his parents' home due to his need for a safe, highly structured setting that would assist him with his intensive academic, emotional, and behavioral needs related to his diagnosis of Autism and Communication Disorder.
Kasey was an affectionate, loving young man who enjoyed hugs, listening to music, watching Disney movies, and taking walks, but he especially loved to swing. Although he lacked verbal communication skills, his smile and expressive personality “spoke” for him.
Sadly, Kasey’s life was tragically cut short after he left IDTC to continue his life’s adventure. Kasey exemplifies the courage and challenges that can be overcome and the persistent love of dedicated parents and those who support our special kids in their journeys.
