What are You Thankful for?

We are approaching Thanksgiving now that Veterans Day is past; and while I am glad to celebrate another Veterans Day, I am not looking forward to the business of holidays.
So many holidays have become so commercialized, and yes I am a shop proprietor and all but even I would like to see folks come in just for the love or need of a thing and not always because it is a "holiday" or some such thing.
I for one prefer to live out my days being blessed to be a blessing to those who come to us to solve a need. Because I am a Christ-In Chaplain, I prefer to live my faith daily and not just one day a week and the same is true all year long. And because we do Sowing of the Word of God in our shop while we we do sewing services for those who come to us or are sent to us (of God) by friends, family or associates we like to be here for those who need us.
As a Veteran Service Organization Chaplain I am thankful to be called upon for many different things to minister to the veterans and their families who are members of the various organizations I am called of. But really it is the community I believe to be called to minister to, and anyone that is drawn of God to seek me out.
As for being thankful? I am thankful for being saved of God by God's Grace, and that by Faith in Christ Jesus. I am thankful to have been given my wife and children of God and being married this past 41 years. I am thankful to have the talents and abilities that God has given me and my wife and the opportunity He has provided us to ply our craft in the communities around Muncie and East Central Indiana. I am thankful for the continued healing and health I have been given to this point.
I am thankful for the grace of God and His favor abounding toward my wife in her time of life and the continued healing and health she is growing in daily. I am thankful for our wonderful neighbors of almost thirty years. I am thankful for the good people God has sent us to help us with our homestead maintenance and repairs needs.
At first I didn't understand why God would have placed us in this community? but it is becoming more clear each year and I am thankful for being here in the Muncie area and I am expecting to be here until we pass or are translated in the twinkling of an eye. In the mean time, I will be found being the best me I am being prepared to be for whatever purpose I am called to.
My prayer and hope for so many others is they can be thankful for the many blessings and opportunities to be a blessing to others that they can be mindful of. To be God be all the Glory... Praise and Honor forever and forever; AMEN
