Indna State Labs Host To Chinese Delegates
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Eight delegates from the Shanghai Institute for Food and Drug Control, a professional testing institution for cosmetics, drugs, food, and medical devices in China, visited the Indiana State Department of Health Laboratories on November 20 to experience a modern working laboratory comparable to the one they are planning.
The Shanghai Institute for Food and Drug Control is working with the American architectural firm, Cannon Design, to construct a new laboratory facility in Shanghai, China.
"We were honored delegates from the Shanghai Institute for Food and Drug Control chose to tour our facility and exchange scientific information with our staff," said Dr. Judith Lovchik, laboratory director. "Our ability to share relevant laboratory experience was very warmly received. We established personal and professional connections that will be valuable to both agencies as we work on common goals."
The tour included the testing laboratories, as well as the administrative and receiving departments. It was led by Dr. Lovchik and laboratory division directors Robin Bruner and Tom Cronau, as well as Dr. Lixia Liu and Miao Xu, chemists with the State Laboratories, who acted as translators. Daniel Niewoehner of Cannon Design, one of the chief designers of the State Laboratories, was also on hand to answer questions about the building and its design.
