INDOT Employees Reach Out to Help Their Communities
VINCENNES, IN - As it nears the Christmas holiday, employees of the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) have stepped up to help different communities in their time of need. The Vincennes District Office Complex held a Canned Food Drive. The canned goods and non-perishable items were donated to the Vincennes Salvation Army.
The Tell City Subdistrict once again sponsored a family in need from their community. They raised money to buy food, clothing and toys for Christmas for the family.
Joe Maynard, Unit Foreman of the Addison Avenue Unit of the Evansville Subdistrict, dressed up as Santa and visits the patients of the State Hospital in Evansville. He has been doing this for many years.
The District Complex, Linton and Tell City Subdistricts have also held blood drives to help the American Red Cross during the holidays.
The annual State Employee Community Campaign recently wrapped up with hundreds of state employees making donations to local charities of their choice. Reaching out to aid community programs during the holidays is just another way INDOT employees help their home towns.
