Governors to kick off first meeting of Indiana Kentucky Bi-State Authority

Governor Mitch Daniels, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson, as the appointing authorities for the Indiana Kentucky Bi-State Authority, will formalize its establishment at the group’s first meeting next week.

The governors and mayor will speak at the authority’s organizational meeting on Tuesday in Louisville. The authority, which has seven representatives from each state, will coordinate efforts to finance and construct two new bridges connecting southeast Indiana with the Louisville metropolitan area.

 The meeting will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. (EST) at the Muhammad Ali Center, 144 North Sixth Street in Louisville.
