Ivy Tech Offers Homeland Security/Emergency Management Degree
MUNCIE, IN - An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program in Homeland Security/ Emergency Management (HSEM) is now being offered at the Muncie Campus of Ivy Tech Community College.
The HSEM program is a specialty within the Public Safety curriculum of the School of Public and Social Services and is designed to train students to help prevent and respond to natural or man-made disasters, according to Neil Huff, program chair. “In today’s changing world, communities of all sizes are making the safety of their citizens a top priority,” said Huff. “Trained workers with specialized skills in homeland security and emergency management are vital to these efforts.”
The mission of the HSEM program, as with Ivy Tech, is to develop occupation-oriented skills and knowledge with which to expand and enhance the career and educational opportunities for Ivy Tech graduates, said Huff.
