Five Teenagers Injured in Rollover Crash on State Road 446
MONROE COUNTY, IN - A white Ford Taurus carrying five Monroe County teenagers traveled off of SR 446 near Old Richardson Road (approximately 5 miles south of Bloomington) on Sunday, just after 2:30 PM. The investigation revealed the driver, Chelsea Sarnecki, 16, of Bloomington, due to speed too fast to avoid a collision, traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
This collision caused the vehicle to roll several times until the vehicle came to final rest on its top. Sarnecki, along with 3 other occupants of the vehicle were transported to Bloomington Hospital for complaints of pain. One occupant (age 18) refused treatment at the scene.
The investigation further revealed that three of the occupants were wearing their seat belts and in doing so prevented further or more serious injuries.
