Generation Gap to Rock Slamology
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Local band, Generation Gap, will be performing Saturday, June 20 at Slamology v7.0 Music Festival at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.
Travis Burton, guitarist, his son, Culley Burton, on bass, along with another father-son pair, Jeff Corlew, lead vocalist, and Ryan Corlew, drummer, create a mixed generation band that covers songs from the past and present, as well as creates a few of their own.
“Generation Gap plays cover songs, with some original tunes mixed in the bag,” said Rob Snodgrass of SEG Productions and Slamology stage manager, “This is their fourth year on the Slamology Main stage.”
Generation Gap is a crowd favorite at the annual music festival and car show, likely because the younger members of the crowd can relate to the teenaged sons.
Though Culley and Ryan are young, they don’t lack experience.
Culley has been playing bass since he was 6-years-old and has appeared with several performers, including Benito DiBartoli and the Black Voodoo Band, JB DeVille, and Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors.
Ryan has been playing drums since he was 5-years-old. Ryan has also learned to play guitar and Generation Gap has been rocking since March of 2004.
The band has been working together ever since and has played at clubs in Indianapolis, Greenwood, Greenfield, and Fishers, as well as playing weddings, private parties, and fund raising events.
Slamology is a unique automotive and musical extravaganza open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 19 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 20. One day tickets are $10 at the gate.
