Posey County Woman Arrested and Charged with 31 Felonies
POSEY COUNTY, IN - Last Friday afternoon, members of the Indiana State Police arrested a Poseyville woman on 30 counts of forgery and 1 count of theft. Indiana State Police White Collar Crimes Detective Russ Werkmeister began a criminal investigation after receiving information from the Posey County Sheriff's Office, that a possible financial crime was taking place at Tri-County Equipment in Poseyville.
Preliminary investigation reveals that from January 23, 2009 through June 18, 2010 Christina L. Woolston, 41, Poseyville allegedly stole money from her employer, Tri-County Equipment, by issuing checks to a company where she was the only person on the company account. She had issued 30 total checks for a total of $214,498.48. Woolston was employed by Tri-County Equipment in Poseyville and was the book-keeper responsible for accounts payable for the company.
Through the course of the investigation investigators were able to obtain enough probable cause for the Posey County Superior Court to issue 31 class C felony arrest warrants for Woolston. Today at approximately 12:30 p.m. troopers went to her residence and arrested Woolston without incident and transported her to the Posey County Jail where she is being held on a $20,000 cash bond.
