Fair time here
Want to know what some of the biggest crowd pleasers are at the Delaware County Fair? Fair Board President Jane Lasater suggests the hog wrestling in the Grandstand on Monday and the always popular Band Day contest Friday are the ones to watch. Hundreds of people already were at the fairgrounds this week for a variety of 4-H events as the fair carnival kicks off Monday with rides, a visit by some Indianapolis Colts players and cheerleaders and that hog wrestling contest. Lasater also expected plenty of people for the 4-H horse and pony show Saturday and besides the horse and pony pull that night. There's also plenty of music ranging from Jennifer Stanley on Monday to Cook and Belle with Seth Cook on Wednesday to keep fairgoers entertained. Look for the Spirit of the South marching band to give the newly consolidated Anderson Highlanders some competition on Friday and there also will be politicians galore with midterm elections set for November that will decide who"s the next sheriff in town besides other offices. All the fair events can be found at www.delawarecountyfair.net
