The Ball legacy
Gov. Mitch Daniels continued the Ball-Bracken legacy at Ball State University by naming the next generation of Bracken to the BSU board of trustees.
Thomas C. Bracken, a software programmer, succeeds his father, Frank, on the board, like his father succeeded his father, Alexander, who succeeded his father-in-law, Frank C. Ball and great uncle, George A. Ball. Frank Bracken was the longest serving board members in the history of the trustees and the university's administration building carries his name.
Thomas Bracken is not a Ball State graduate, His undergraduate degree came from Stanford and a master's in business administration comes from the University of Chicago. He will join board President Hollis Hughes Jr., South Bend, along with other trustees, Rick Hall and Barbara Phillips, both of Carmel; Frank Hancock and Marianne Glick, both of Indianapolis; Matt Momper, Fort Wayne; R. Wayne Estopinal, Jeffersonville, and student member Mark Miller.
